Plenty of foodies recall the change CKC underwent in the last few years, when ownership swapped and the grounds were given a facelift. The ambiance remains quaint and comfortable, while their menu has recently been enhanced. As one guest put it, “they’ve still got it,” when referring to CKC’s ability to remain consistent on the culinary front.
Rekindling the days of yesteryear, a recent Thursday night brought together pianist Chris Marshall, tickling the ivories on a few short duets with Leigh Jocson, of both Beyond Broadway (The Musical) and Jocson College fame.
“Wow” was definitely the word for the night. If it weren’t enough for the food, it was as if a major recording artist had landed in the restaurant and was giving an intimate show to a few dozen lucky diners. When the singing began several guests paused from eating to set down their silverware and watch.
The entire night was informal and relaxed, which lended well to the mood. There’s nothing better than a laid back dining environment with good food, company, and spirits. Plan your next Thursday Night at CKC, you won’t be disappointed.
