More Update - 1430 hrs - Fri
" All the girls are at Station 2 in Pangpang. They are being questioned about who is the owner, manager ect ect...Some of the girls are being subjected to forensic dentistry to check for third molars. She just sent me another text and the girls have been informed that they will not be released until the bar provides their business and work permits." The girls are still locked up until the owner comes to CIDG. If the owner does not show up they will be taken to a Manila jail. (Many of us know what this means)
Thursday night - 6 PM the Candy Bar along Perimeter Road was raided. This bar is only two doors down from the Bare Assets Bar which was raided months ago and is still closed.
Reports say it was CIDG, with Korean asset used. I was told the Mamasan, one girl and the cashier was taken. But other reports say they took all the girls and loaded them up and I believe that to be true. That is what they usually do. Once again marked money used.
The manager was not present but was close by. Once again I repeat that to be a manager in a bar here now is a risky job. This manager was lucky and should still lay low.
The pitcher here is of the Candy Bar at 7 PM.
Is this the evil hand of the IJM again?
UPDATE: I received this message from Robert D. which shed light on the vague comments I received last night about the manager having a hassle with Koreans.
"I'm told the manager arrived to find one of his girls being dragged out of his bar by 2 Korean men.
After making them release release the girl the Koreans told him they were Police officers, which he initially scoffed at. But he was astonished when they both produced CIDG identification tags."
Now the CIDG are using Korean thugs to do their dirty work? Bar owners/managers here know that many Korean men in AC show no respect to Filipina women. They are rude, abusive and a bunch of slime balls. What the hell qualifies them to be with the CIDG? The manager has clarified they were Filipino men, not Koreans.
UPDATE, SUNDAY NIGHT 23 JUN: For those of you who read my breaking news in the past two days will be wondering why it is much shorter now. I must explain.
I had included a very long description of events written by a bit of a rascal named Neal, AKA Road Slut. This man is not even in country anymore and is quite hesitant to return. He has a bit of a negative reputation and specializes in writing fictional, at times slanderous words about personalities in town. Normally I make it a policy to ignore the rubbish that comes out of his mouth and his computer. Regretfully, I deviated from this rule of mine when I published, here, words that he wrote about the owner of the Candy Bar, Troy and Mommy Faye. I have known Troy a long time and have never heard of him doing those things described by the two ex-employees who did not work at the Candy bar very long. Since I inserted Road Slut's comments in this column I have received many messages and calls from customers of the Candy Bar defending Troy and Faye. So many in fact that I came to realize that I should have ignored Road Slut's story as I had all others before this one. I shall not make that mistake again. I appreciated the personal visit by Troy, Faye and manager Kev to my stable.
Now, let me bring you up to date with the facts as presented by Troy and Kev. It is true that there was a set up by a disgruntled ex-employee who is working in another bar. I am sure her name will be spread to other Clubs.
The CIDG men were NOT koreans. Rev mistook them for Koreans so now that has been clarified and I no longer have to wonder how Koreans could be CIDG agents.
There was a Korean customer that made the accusation that the girl he was associating with in the bar was 15 years of age. In fact, the girl was 19 years old.
The Korean asset is known to Candy Bar management and he will be identified. He was a repeat customer and this is how some assets are working. Posing as regular customers and then taking a girl out.
According to management the girls that were taken to the AC CIDG office were well treated. They were even provided food, water, and allowed to keep their cell phones. All were released except for two ladies and that might happen on Monday.
Candy Bar is open for business, they were not closed down. No underage girls were found. There has been no action taken by City Hall and it is hoped by many loyal customers that the Candy Bar will remain open.
