Saturday night 1 Sep, Cuba came to Fields Ave, more specifically, A. Santos Street. It is always something special to attend an opening of a new Club, restaurant, sports grill especially when there is something unique about the place. Remember Shano's and then the International? Now, greet the Cuba-Cuba Rum and Sports Grill! They had a very lively, fun opening night where many locals, Expats and VIP's were in attendance. Mrs Horse and I were in attendance and enjoyed meeting manager "Vivs", a very charming young lady who used to work at the Clarkton and Jonard, two folks who had a very busy night greeting and seating the VIP's and chatting it up with all the customers in attendance. Owner Lewis of the Lewis Grand Hotel was on hand as well as his key personnel Canadian Chris, Angelo and Alvin. Chris was extremely helpful in filling me in on some details. The Mayor made an appearance and stay for about one hour. As he was departing he stopped to tell me "Nice place, I will be frequenting this place". I am sure Lewis and company are pleased with the turn out and the positive words from the Mayor.
I am including a few pictures but will be adding more along with more details in my Oct column. Oh, they have some nice signature drinks and I really enjoyed the Mojito. First time I tried it. Stop by, look it over and try to check out the "Beauty and the Beats" band on the weekend, they are good. Feel like dancing a step or two, feel free to do so.
