Best deli in Angeles ?
All of this under a single roof......
I will let the following lists speak for themselves.
HARD CHEESES - manchego, English vintage cheddar, Jack matured cheddar, parmigiano, caved aged Swiss Gruyere, grand padano, old Amsterdam cheese, pecorino Romano, Appenzellar, Swiss tilsiter
SOFT CHEESES - Brie de Meaux, Brie Bridel, port salut, St.Pauline, blue Stilton, Italian goat cheese, gorgonzola, cambozola, mozzarella, feta, provolone dolce, Tommie de savoie
Canadian bacon, honey ham, corned beef, loin shaped ham, Serrano ham, Parma ham, mortadella, hickory smoked turkey breast, peppered ham, forest ham, smoked farmers ham, salami Milano, pancetta, Spanish hot salami, liver sausage pate
Ciabatta, sliced wheat bread, French Sourdough, baguettes, English muffins and crusty rolls. Some of their stuff comes from L'Artisan in Manila, one of the top bakeries in the country.
2 cabinets full of all the usual suspects, but also original and super strong Oettinger, Erdinger regular and dark, Kapuziner, Kellerbier, Jever, Krombacher and my choice the Paulaner wheat beer.
whites - Chardonnay, Trebbiano, Sauvignon Blanc, around 400 to 500
The standout is the German Riesling which is excellent, but will set you back 700
decent reds - Shiraz from Oz at 500, Chilean Merlot at 400, Cab Sav at 700
Two personal favourites :
Maison Gulillot Merlot from France at 345
Fantini Farnese - a Sangiovese from Italy at 450
Also stocks pasta, sauces, Carmen's Best ice cream, biscuits, pastries, sausages, meats, chocolates, good but pricey olives and the most expensive corkscrew for miles at 1,300 peso !! Treat yourself to the French duck breast or the Wagyu Striploin. A three table cafe out the back with decent coffee and an impressive sandwich menu. Never over crowded. Good oasis type spot in the heat.
If you are drinking wine, I really recommend San Pellegrino to clean your palate. H&W sell it by the box or as singles :
55 each for the 250ml (box of 24)
75 each for the 500ml (box of 24)
95 each for the 750ml (box of 12)
