Finally a bar owner with the balls to stand up to the big extortion Group, the RSOG, men in uniform who use the CIDG title to mask their illegal actions against bars.
No other bar owner has stood up against these thieves in uniform. The owner along with his lawyer decided to take a stand. The CIDG Chief Bruno acts like he did not know what this RSOG was doing, maybe so, but I do not believe him as this Group has been operating with impunity for two years. One reader who passed this article on ask's, "What about kidnapping charges" and yes, that is a legitimate question.
One owner has stood up against this group. Many others did not, they just paid millions and went about their business. Also, lets be real here as in the past the CIDG and the NBI have been involved in extortion. Even now you have one Barangay Captain using tactics to force monthly payments out of bar owners. The bars are targets and an investigation will uncover many greedy rats in the system.
Naturally this owner's stand will be subject to debate. Believe it or not there will be bar owners who will disagree with his actions.
There remain 5 female employees of Honey-Ko's still in detention while charges of human trafficking are being prepared against them. You have two mamasans, one cashier and two waitresses sweating out charges that will send them to the City Jail for months, maybe years. Will those charges be dismissed? Bear in mind that the extortion charges against the RSOG is separate from the charges against the bar owner for the human trafficking charges. One point to consider is that the set up by the RSOG for trafficking was done expressly to obtain money. Without that motive no raid would have taken place)
An entrapment operation was laid out last Saturday after the owner and the RSOG men supposedly agreed on the time and place for the payoff, but the police officers were apparently alerted and did not show up. (No surprise there. I have been privy to two similar situations where the cops have been tipped off. What do you expect, they look after each other)
With this story we start to see how the police will join forces to turn the tables on the owners who pressed charges against them and how now, five remaining ladies might be guests of law enforcement authorities for quite a while. This action was to be expected as I am sure there are some high ranking officials beyond the RSOG who want this investigation squashed and will join forces to turn the tables against the complainants. I suspect their objective is to send a message to bar owners, "don't mess with us, pay up and shut up". Lets see how good the lawyer is for the complainants.
