I guess it seems like shooting people is the new sport in the Philippines. I have heard about this from two different sources.
Harry, just yesterday a friend of mine personally witnessed it, he was no more than 20 yards away. He told me about it less than 30 minutes after it happened, which would have been about 3-4 pm yesterday. I did not post, as I was not sure it should be on PIatnight (not a mongering issue). Anyway, here's what he told me:
He was collecting his dog from a vet on Friendship. Two Koreans were exiting a Chinese (Korean?) restaurant, when a black Fortuner (or similar ) pulled up. He said a Pinoy with dark glasses got out and simply walked up to the guys, and shot them both in the head. He then got back in the car, and sped away. One guy was clearly dead, there were brains everywhere. He thought the 2nd guy was still alive. All was over in seconds, he said it was very surreal. He said the area was sealed off within minutes. That's it really. I guess they had REALLY pissed someone off.
The other version came from a fellow Rotary member who also witnessed the event: He told me that three Koreans were in a van when a motorcycle approached. A Filipino got off, approached the van and shot two Koreans and a third one was able to get out and run away.
I also heard that the Korean was a money changer in which the motive might be robbery.
(First a foreigner is shot and killed in Barrio Barretto (Blue Rock) and now two more on Friendship. All this during a so called (gun ban). So much for eyewitness reports. What you can believe for sure is that two Koreans are history.
