This time I am not going to go into details. What I can say is that it is one big pain in the ass.
Locally, the Viking Bar was raided last night. Also, I guess the need for money is spreading to Barrio Barretto as well. The Hotzone Bar in the barrio was raided by the Subic CIDG for the same reasons as here in AC but at least they did not go in with a whole squad of police with guns. They were more civilized about it.
"Meeting again. - I just come from another meet that Mayors lapdog Alex had started today. Many other Bar Owners in attendance. Same Same bulldust. Stop the Barfines or be raided. More raids to be expected next 2 weeks. Human Trafficking must stop. Plan to reduce bars to number of 40 only. Pay Local Treasury Taxes or be closed. Annual Permits to increase across board January 1. Immigration Status of Foreign Employees to be checked. Adhere to these rules or be fined huge and closed down. Jail Time pending."
------Start of comments written as a joke by someone writing on PI at Night message board -----------------------------
Additionally, here is something else that was sent to me. I am in the process of trying to find out what is true and what is fantasy. (I received two Emails telling me that the bikini tax was a joke published by someone on"PI at Night" so I guess the rest of this is fantasy as well. Someone wrote and mentioned that he was surprised I fell for the joke. But I did use the word Fantasy, originally I used the word "bull shit" but changed it to be more polite. I am not removing because it was all kind of humorous and clever. It depicts, through a joke, how stressed everyone is in the entertainment zone at this time. Smile today, but cry tomorrow??)
A meeting took place at City Hall on Monday where senior stakeholders in the Industry and City Hall officials met and "round tabled" ideas. Out of it came the following:
1. trike fares in the Balbago area and immediate surrounding Barangays are to be tripled with effect from August 1. The trike drivers will get 50% of the rise and City hall the other 50% to aid in their new plan for a tram service running down McArthur Hwy linking Fields with the Dau Bus terminal. (I can imagine all the working class people in Balibago really accepting this. A tram service, this I have to see as they can't even pave the streets properly)
2. A "entertainment Zone" tax of 40% will be levied on all bars on the sale of beer. The proceeds of which will be going to the Mayors plan to set up a drug and alcohol counselling service for the street kids of the city. This will come into effect from August 1 as well and will only apply to the sale of beer not spirits. (On top of all the other taxes everyone will switch to milk)
3. A "bikini tax" of 50 pesos per bikini per day will come into effect as of the 1st August. The proceeds of this new levy will be used to fund the new project being set up by the mayors wife to give practical employment skills to the Aetas through her new Seamstress school she is setting up at the old Expo site on base. (Another simple solution, short skirts instead of bikini's, even dresses, see through of course. How about naked? What about the male Aetas, are they going to learn to sew too?)
There will be monthly meetings from now on where new and invigorating ideas to help improve the City will be put forward. Interesting times indeed. (I think it is more of new and invigorating ideas to put more money into the pockets of City officials. If they take that much money from the bars who is going to take care of the NBI, CIDG and the PNP?) - End of humor.

Comments and Remarks: Your post in recent events 13July "More Raids" is in fact a total crock of bull posted as a joke on a message board. I thought better of you and your abilities to ferret out the truth. Sadly been let down on this one mate. (Guilty as charged but regret folks missed the use of the word "Fantasy".)
There is an ill wind blowing in Angeles City right now and it sure as hell stinks! I wonder if Bars could move to Mabalacat or San Fernando? They want to reduce the bars to 40 so who makes the decision on which ones go or which ones stay. I did hear a rumor that next year permits will not be issued to all bars, now it will be 40 who pay the most I guess. I wonder if those 40 will be Korean owned?
How come I do not see anything that helps the City? They could enforce an anti-noise ordinance and make Tri-cycle owners put noise suppressors on the bikes to get a permit. The same with all two wheeled bikes and fine those who are caught violating the ordinance. Tri-cycle drivers already charge 3x more that they are authorized to by law.
Yes dear people, jump on a plane and come to Angeles City NOW because God only knows what the hell it will be like this time next year.
