It was my pleasure to once again be present when General Manager Michael Melzer introduced his newest international cuisine delight to the Holiday Inn's Mequeni Restaurant. This time the food presentation is from Indonesia and I can only hope that many Angeles City lovers of fine cuisine will beat a path to enjoy this unique offering of food delights. One must hurry though as it will be here only to 31 Aug. The idea for this food festival came about when Michael was visiting Indonesia and had the chance to experience the rich flavors of Padang delicacies he decided that he had to bring it to the Mequeni. This was a special treat for me and I hope it is for you too.
Shown above is GM Michael Melzer, new French Chef Jean Marc Veron and the talented marketing staff as well as members of the local press corp and even reporters from TV channel 36. Chef Jean has been on board only one month after working in Malayasia for 14 years. I asked him after spending so much time in Malayasia why he brought his cooking talents to the Holiday Inn and Angeles City. His answer was simple and logical, "something different". I do believe that his pastries offered at the Mequeni will have a bit of a french taste and I will be looking forward to that.
PADANG PLATTERS RIGHT HERE AT MEQUENI
Two expert guest chefs from Indonesia are dishing up Padang Cuisine in conjunction with “Makanan Enak – Padang Food Festival”. Mequeni Restaurant at Holiday Inn Clark hosts Chef’s Atep Supian and Dudi Zaenudin coming all the way from Holiday Inn Resort Batam Indonesia for a sixteen day culinary festival of exquisite and authentic Padang fare. Guests will be able to enjoy the ambiance of Indonesia at Mequeni while enjoying a wide variety of Padang cuisines specially prepared by our guest chefs from the 16 August through 31 August, 2013.
Padang food is the cuisine of the Minangkabau people and is famous for its variety and rich taste of coconut milk and spices. As the range of Padang cuisine is enormous, our guest chefs have hand-picked family favorites for the promotion, hence the term in Bahasa Indonesia “Makanan Enak”; translated good food.
General Manager, Michael Melzer comments, “My team and I are very much looking forward to hosting a highly successful sixteen day Padang Food festival and would like to thank our wonderful sponsors Cebu Pacific & the Embassy of The Republic of Indonesia in Manila, Philippines for their patronage and support throughout the event adding tremendous values to this promotion. We are also thankful to work hand in hand with our sister property Holiday Inn Resort Batam in making this unique food festival especially for our guests here.”
