I just received this message from Scott Simms. I am shocked at this brazen attempt of a robbery. I and many other friends park across the street from the Hang-out and would never expect something like to happen, especially in the light of day. How brazen these ass holes are. Quite often I am in the Thi-Hi and would not notice anything. If any cars pull up in front of parked cars and sit there take notice and check it out. This is a new mode of operation to me.
"After attending the Veterans Day ceremony at Clark veterans Cemetery this past Sunday, two friends and I parked on the new concrete slab across from Hang-out/Honey Kos, etc., perpendicular to perimeter road. I parked on the far right of the slab and sat outside at the Hang-out where we were enjoying cold ones and cigars. We used to do this regularly.
At 1430, a white Urvan with untinted windows pulled up along side of my vehicle and a girl in the back held up a red sheet evidently to block the view--I initially figured she was changing clothes but noticed the sheet was not moving much. An older Pajero pulled up behind my vehicle and I alighted across the street--something did not look right. My car alarm then went off and the white van backed out and hauled ass. I jumped in front of the Pajero which was still immediately behind my car--the people in both vehicles were not afraid of being seen. My alarm was still blairing so I attended to my vehicle and the older Pajero also took off.
They had gotten my drivers side door open which set the alarm off. They pretty well mangled the key lock but did not get anything inside the vehicle. Start to finish it was less than two minutes and I was less than 50 feet away watching the whole dang thing. My vehicle is a 2011 Pajero with, I would presume, a higher end security system.
So, heads up! I will certainly not return to AC anytime soon unless flying out of Clark. It's safer here in Zambales."
