The Best Collection of Scotch in the Philippines
Nestled across from the Starbucks in the Clark Center is Kingsley’s, home to some of the most rare whiskies in all of Asia.
As of now, the proprietor (Kingsley) serves up over 130 different brands of Scotch. He is planning to expand the selection to over 1000 types of single malts and blends in the next 3-years so that bottles will literally wrap the walls of the entire restaurant.
If you’re Scotch drinker and there are a lot of guys in town who are, get a load of some of these names: Singleton Liberty, Glenkinchie 12, Glen Silver’s 8, Springbank 10, Cardnu, Haig Club, Dimple 15, Aberfeldy, Lagavulin 16, Cragganmore 12, Talisker Storm, Bowmore Islay, Oban, Ardbeg, Macallan 12, Glenmorangie 18/12/10, Monkey Shoulder, Auchentoshan Springwood, and Glenfiddich 15/12. Kingsley even has an Old St. Andrew’s Clubhouse shaped like a golf ball. The proprietor’s personal favorite is currently the Singleton 12-years.
If you like a bit of whiskey instead, try one of the following: Templeton Rye, Stranahaus, George Dickel, or Redemption 7-Years
The restaurant at Kingsley’s is open 24/7, with over 270 sports channels available, comfortable décor, great food, and the fastest high speed internet in the area (tested one morning 25 MB download and 20 MB upload). They will cook specific meal requests within one day’s notice, and they offer a P700 3-course meal that changes daily.
If you feel like bringing in your own steak before a sporting event, they will cook it up and charge a “steakage” fee. Go their website www.kingsley.in or flip to the back page of this month's newsprint for more details on Kingsley’s.
